Doamne ajuta! Iata, maine este Sambata lui Lazar:

Troparion (Tone 1)

By raising Lazarus from the dead before Your passion,
You did confirm the universal Resurrection, O Christ God!
Like the children with the palms of victory,
We cry out to You, O Vanquisher of death;
Hosanna in the Highest!
Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the Lord!

Kontakion (Tone 2)

Christ the Joy, the Truth and the Light of all,
The Life of the World and the Resurrection
Has appeared in His goodness to those on earth.
He has become the Image of our Resurrection,
Granting divine forgiveness to all!

Darwinism - the creation myth of atheism

  • In the "Evolution News and Views" blog, a in interesting reading is Michael Egnor's "Happy Atheist Day" in which he answers the criticism of Steven Novella regarding the Michael Egnor's Forbes.com article "A Neurosurgeon, Not A Darwinist". In the Forbes.com article, Michael Egnor "reviewed some of the scientific problems with Darwin’s theory", and noticed that Darwinism - "the creation myth of atheism" - "is itself a religious ideology".
  • Uncommon Descent reports that Michael Behe, Eric Anderson, David Chiu, Kirk Durston are "mentioned favorably in ID-sympathetic Peer-Reviewed Article" The Capabilities of Chaos and Complexity Int. J. Mol. Sci. 2009, 10(1), 247-291; doi:10.3390/ijms10010247 (Published: 9 January 2009). See also Intelligent Design FAQ (this FAQ is to whom it may concern - including darwinist/"secular humanist" activists looking for their peace of mind... duh! :-) ).
Having said that, one should note that while many contemporary orthodox look with sympathetic interest and often find inspiration in the ID stand against the modern ideology of "naturalism", the orthodox approach is of a different nature. Indeed intelligent design "does not necessarily imply belief in a transcendent creative being". On the other hand, the orthodox views in these matters always resonate with the specific orthodox understanding of the transcendent God - The Holy Trinity, of the Essence and Uncreated Energies of God, of the logoi of Creation and of God's Creation in its relationship with the Creator - as articulated by St. Maximus the Confessor, St. Gregory Palamas and many other Church luminaries. On this blog however, while these differences will be pointed at and emphasized as needed, I will try not make this emphasis disproportionate or excessive.
